Citybox Oslo

Self-service hotel in central Oslo, 800 ft from the train station

Amenities & Services

Citybox Oslo operates with self-check-in kiosks that replace a traditional front desk, letting guests check in and out without waiting in line. The hotel provides a shared guest kitchen with microwaves, a kettle, and a fridge for meal preparation, along with a luggage room for storing bags before check-in or after checkout. On-site facilities include a self-service laundry room, a business centre with meeting/banquet spaces, and pet bowls for guests traveling with animals.

Rooms & Accommodations

Rooms at Citybox Oslo are Scandinavian-designed and come in configurations including Single Rooms, Small Double Rooms, Double Rooms, Family Rooms, and a Junior Suite, some with a balcony. Each room contains a bed, a small desk, and a modern bathroom stocked with soap, shampoo, and a hairdryer, plus soundproofed windows for quiet sleep. Certain rooms offer extra seating areas, and all rooms use a key card to control lights and access the elevator.

Location & Surroundings

The hotel sits 800 ft from Oslo Central Station and 500 ft from Karl Johans gate shopping street, placing guests steps from the main transit hub and retail district. Oslo Opera House is a 5-minute walk away, while the Royal Palace and the nightlife of Aker Brygge lie within 0.6 mile. Nearby landmarks also include Oslo Cathedral and the Parliament of Norway, all reachable on foot.

Dining Options

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available at two partner restaurants, Rent Mel and Spor Av Nord, accessible through internal doors from the lobby. Guests receive discounts at these restaurants by showing their Citybox key card. Vending machines in the lobby sell snacks, soft drinks, and coffee at fair prices, and a coffee house operates on site.

Entertainment & Communal Spaces

The ground floor features a shared lounge/TV area with seating and a TV, plus a separate room with darts and table tennis for guests to use. A communal kitchen area with tables and chairs allows guests to eat together or prepare simple meals.
